Yeah, I don't see Japan abolishing cash.  It's a cash society, unlike Korea where businesses are required to have card machines.  In Japan, you're lucky to find a place with an atm or card reader, especially if it's one of the mom-and-pop places that are so common. 

There were two links that I'd been meaning to send you... One of them I can't remember at the moment, but the other was an Etsy store called Guttersnipe Yarn, that has various steampunk inspired yarns.   If I remember any more I will pass them along...
