Keep a lookout for the announcement of winners for the Vintage Tomorrows giveaway! It’ll be here soon. Thanks to everyone who entered!
This week, we have two copies of something a little different. The Iron Kingdoms is a role-playing game which combines steampunk, alchemy, and military strategy. Now the Iron Kingdom Chronicles are expanding the universe, with stories chock-full of espionage, tactics, and personalities. The first book, In Thunder Forged: Iron Kingdoms Chronicles: The Fall of Llael, Book One (quite the title!) by Ari Marmell, is the first in the series, and sets a great tone for the books to come.
More information about Iron Kingdoms, the RPG, is available via Privateer Press; more information about the Chronicles can be found on Pyr’s website; and Ari Marmell keeps a website at the wonderfully named Mouseferatu.com.
We have one Advance Reader Copy and one published paperback version of In Thunder Forged to give away! To enter the contest, post a comment below and tell us what your role would be in a steampunk warfare situation. Would you be an iron warrior? A stealthy spy? A strategist behind the scenes? An alchemist? Something else entirely? Let us know! The deadline for entering the contest is 11:59 pm Sunday, June 30th. Good luck!
Espionage - from a distance. Flying high on a stealth dirigible, or perhaps moving under the radar in a spy sub, I'd be breaking codes and gathering information from the aether-borne communications of the enemy.

I am definitely a behind-the-scenes-strategist kind of guy, with a dash of espionage and invention. If possible, I would try to work with multiple sides to achieve my own ends, helping inventors develop and apply new technologies.

I like to say strategist -- but that probably means quill pusher with delusions of grandeur.
